It isn't totally finished - you'll notice that there's no listing for some industrial and modern infantry units, although they are in the sheet anyway. I'll get around to that eventually. You'll also notice that not all the icons are civ-specific, even though they look red on the sheet. That's because that particular red is the wrong palette index.
I've discovered how to rectify that, and I'll do that soon as well. I just though that after all this time, people would appreciate the icon sheet in whatever format I have it at present. So, it's not up to my high standards, but it's pretty damn good.IMPORTANT NOTICE================The reason that I haven't released an update to this file for so long is because I got frustrated with making the icons from flcs for units where the creator hadn't provided an icon.
So from now on, only units with a provided icon go in the sheet.HERE IS THE FILE==============https://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/.its32_v6.6.zipIcon list is in zip file, and is also posted in this thread.AN APOLOGY===============Sorry for being lazy and not releasing an update for the LAST YEAR __________________UP THE IRONS!Get the inside story on the war in IraqThe War PrayerMy Units Field Gun, Carthage Pikeman, Rome Pikeman, Viking Spearman My Leaderheads Dwarf Lord, Dark ElfMy tutorials How to make Leaderheads in Poser, Using Daz's Michael 3 for Unit Creation Kinboat-210 - Ashigaru Footman - Flag211 - Ashigaru Footman - No Flag212 - Bushi - Flag213 - Bushi - No Flag214 - Kensai215 - Otomo Swordsman216 - Samurai Archer217 - Samurai Spearman - Flag218 - Samurai Spearman - No Flag219 - Chin Spearman220 - Chin Swordsman221 - Chin Warrior222 - Golden Horde223 - Mongolian Horse Archer 1224 - Mongolian Horse Archer 2225 - Mongolian Horse Archer 3226 - Incan Slinger227 - Inti Warrior228 - Meso American Spearman229 - Meso American Warrior230 - Iroquois Archer231 - Iroquois Brave232 - Native American Warrior (Icon 1)233 - Native American Warrior (Icon 2)234 - Native American Spearman235 - Native American Swordsman236 - Roman Centurion237 - Roman Legionary238 - Roman Army239 - Skink Settler240 - Skink Worker241 - Slann (Icon 1)242 - Slann (Icon 2)243 - Saurus Sword244 - Saurus Pike245 - Panda Settler246 - Panda Stone Thrower247 - Panda Warrior248 - Panda Worker249 - Panda250 - Victorian Secret Service (Icon 1)251 - Victorian Secret Service (Icon 2)252 - Elven Swordsman253 - Elven Spearman254 - Elven Bowman255 - Krupps Howitzer256 - Artillery Mecha257 - Gatling Mecha258 - Jin Roh Armoured Infantry259 - WWI Sci-Fi Infantry260 - Battle Angel261 - White Dragon262 - Blue Dragon263 - Black Dragon264 - Red Dragon265 - Green Dragon266 - Giant Squid267 - Giant Eagle268 - King Cobra269 - Beholder270 - Griffin Rider271 - Wild Griffin272 - Robin Hood273 - Adventurer274 - Troubadour275 - Balrog276 - Uruk Hai Warrior277 - Uruk Hai Beserker278 - Cataphract279 - Crusader280 - Norman Knight281 - Fanatic282 - Galloglass283 - Germanic Spearman284 - Industrial Swordsman285 - Man-at-Arms286 - Medieval Resistor287 - Modern Resistor288 - Modern Soldier - Yellow Helmet289 - Modern Soldier - Green Helmet290 - Av1291 - MKIV292 - Kha-Go Japanese WW2 Tank293 - PanzerMorser SturmTiger294 - Lancia IZM Armoured Car295 - Jeep296 - Renault FT17297 - Leopard 2 Modern Armour298 - Humvee299 - Pterodactyl300 - Pterosaur301 - Terradon Rider302 - ?303 - Gnoll Scout304 - Gnoll Knight305 - Gnoll306 - Native American Grizzly Warrior 1307 - Native American Grizzly Warrior 2308 - Industrial Legion 1309 - Industrial Legion 2310 - Minotaur311 - Ranger312 - Elohim313 - Seraphim314 - African Tribal Guardian315 - James Bond316 - Achilles317 - Cuchulainn318 - Zulu Cavalry319 - Egyptian Warrior320 - Egyptian Spearman321 - Egyptian Archer322 - Egyptian Axeman323 - Egyptian Monk324 - Egyptian Pikeman325 - Horus Knight326 - Anubis Knight327 - Wolf Spider328 - Lynx Spider329 - Spitting Spider330 - Black Widow Spider331 - Ushabti 1332 - Ushabti 2333 - LandsKnecht 1334 - LandsKnecht 2335 - Saurus Musketeer336 - Skink Spearman337 - Skink Bowman338 - Skink Dart339 - Stegadon Rider340 - Modern Legion 134One of the most common user complaints about gaming is the AI.
Its been this way for decades, which doesnt seem to make sense computers today are vastly more powerful than systems built 30 years ago. We recently sat down with Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock and the author of the AI in Galactic Civilizations II about this problem and how DirectX 12 and improved multi-threading support offer hope of improvement. The underpinnings of RPG AI emerged relatively quickly. Games like Ultima IV (1985) offered comprehensive conversation trees that allowed players to query NPCs (non-player characters) on specific topics.
A major part of Ultima IVs gameplay involve traveling the world and learning from its various denizens. The approach feels deep, even today, despite the fact that U4 shipped on two double-sided floppy disks. We had day/night cycles when these graphics were cutting-edgeUltima V (1988) added a day / night cycle, which means that two of the fundamental building blocks of RPG nokia 302 civilitation cheat sheet robust NPC conversations and realistic life cycles were shipping nearly 30 years ago, in games of less than 1MB.
That doesnt mean weve made no improvements since, but according to Wardell, AI has actually become worse in some respects. There are several interlocking reasons why this is the case. Scale, cost, and complexityThe first problem, Wardell explained, is that good AI doesnt really sell games. Gamers may value good AI, but its not the determining factor in whether people buy a title. At the same time, AI is now tightly coupled to graphics and must be communicated visually.
Its no longer enough to tell the player, The shopkeeper looks frightened, as players want to see that the shopkeeper is frightened. Yes, this guard is attempting to arrest a fishVirtually all of what we call AI in games relies on scripted sequences, either hand-written or procedurally generated.
Bethesdas Radiant AI, for example, uses procedurally generated scripts to create goals and tasks for NPCs, then allows them to determine how best to fulfill their needs. The company famously had to tone down how the system functioned in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion after it became clear its original approach produced unintended consequences.
In one case, NPCs addicted to a drug called skooma would buy the drug until they ran out of money, then kill the dealer and steal his supply. Players would arrive to talk to the dealer as part of a quest chain, and find nokia 302 civilitation cheat sheet was already dead. Multithreading and the AI-vs-graphics tug of warUnlike graphics workloads, which can be easily parallelized and scale well, artificial intelligence processing is difficult to multithread.
The job-based systems that many games use for multithreading dont tend to work well for AI processing, Wardell explained, because the AI is constantly asking questions and must receive immediate answers. Job-based systems are designed to launch and process workloads, not facilitate constant communication between the job and the host CPU. To understand this better, consider interactions between the player and an NPC shop owner.
Bethesda games typically offer you the option to steal goods without penalty, provided no one else sees you doing it. This means the game is constantly calculating the shopkeepers line of sight.
If youre trying to sneak around a camp full of bandits, the AI is checking to see how nokia 302 civilitation cheat sheet noise you made and whether the bandits heard it. In both cases, the AI is asking a question and receiving an answer many times a second.A critical part of the reason why AI doesnt seem to have advanced much, even though computers today are orders of magnitude more powerful than their predecessors, is because the overwhelming majority of that compute capability has been devoted to making games prettier, not smarter. Dogmeat in FO3 vs.
FO4. He responds to your actions and emotes various states in Fallout 4Because AI actions and reactions are synched to graphics, AI workloads need to be completed in time for an NPC to react to whats going on in the world around them. That means AI processing needs to happen within a 10-20ms timeframe and since AI workloads dont thread well, the AI is probably running on a CPU core thats also handling other tasks.
Most games display more than one NPC at a time, so all of their collective AI calculations must be handled simultaneously. 1 of 2 Next Microsoft has always had good ideas and horrible execution of said ideas. no, they would not have fixed he drawcallgeddon or overhell that mantle adressed without AMD/DICE poking them in the gonads with a really big stick. I think Microsoft get good ideas and when in build get other ideas and change whats important to make more money and create another idea or protect feature ideas so we get less of what originally was thought or less quality.
Just my opinion though! As far as I know, theres truth to that. Its just that everyone gets the timeline wrong and forgets nuance.GCN 1.0 is fully MantSkip Article Header.

Ethan HillYou have a secret that can ruin your life. Its not a well-kept secret, either. Just a simple string of charactersmaybe six of them if youre careless, 16 if youre cautiousthat can reveal everything about you. Also in this issue Kill the Password: Why a String of Characters Cant Protect Us Anymore The Patent Problem How James Dyson Makes the Ordinary ExtraordinaryYour email.
Your bank account. Your address and credit card number. Photos of your kids or, worse, of yourself, naked. The precise location where youre sitting right now as you read these words. Since the dawn of the information age, weve bought into the idea that a password, so long as its elaborate enough, is an adequate means of protecting all this precious data.
But in 2012 thats a fallacy, a fantasy, an outdated sales pitch. And anyone who still mouths it is a suckeror someone who takes you for one.No matter how complex, no matter how unique, your passwords can no longer protect you.Look around. Leaks and dumpshackers breaking into computer systems and releasing lists of usernames and passwords on the open webare now regular occurrences.
The way we daisy-chain accounts, with our email address doubling as a universal username, creates a single point of failure that can be exploited with devastating results. Thanks to an explosion of personal information being stored in the cloud, tricking customer service agents into resetting passwords has never been easier. All a hacker has to do is use personal information thats publicly available on one service to gain entry into another. This summer, hackers destroyed my entire digital life in the span of an hour.
My Apple, Twitter, and Gmail passwords were all robustseven, 10, and 19 characters, respectively, all alphanumeric, some with symbols thrown in as wellbut the three accounts were linked, so once the hackers had conned their way into one, they had them all. They really just wanted my Twitter handle: @mat.
As a three-letter username, its considered prestigious. And to delay me from getting it back, they used my Apple account to wipe every one of my devices, my iPhone and iPad and MacBook, deleting all my messages and documents and every picture Id ever taken of my 18-month-old daughter. The age of the password is over.
We just havent realized it yet.Since that awful day, Ive devoted myself to researching the world of online security. And what I have found is utterly terrifying. Our digital lives are simply too easy to crack.
Imagine that I want to get into your email. Lets say youre on AOL. All I need to do is go to the website and supply your name plus maybe the city you were born in, info thats easy to find in the age of Google. With that, AOL gives me a password reset, and I can log in as you.First thing I do? Search for the word bank to figure out where you do your online banking.
I go there and click on the Forgot Password? link. I get the password reset and log in to your account, which I control. Now I own your checking account as well as your email. This summer I learned how to get into, well, everything. With two minutes and $4 to spend at a sketchy foreign website, I could report back with your credit card, phone, and Social Security numbers and your home address.
Allow me five minutes more and I could be inside your accounts for, say, Amazon, Best Buy, Hulu, Microsoft, and Netflix. With yet 10 more, I could take over your AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon.
Give me 20totaland I own your PayPal. Some of those security holes are plugged now. But not all, and new ones are discovered every day.The common weakness in these hacks is the password.
Its an artifact from a time when our computers were not hyper-connected. Today, nothing you do, no precaution you take, no long or random string of characters can stop a truly dedicated and devious individual from cracking your account. The age of the password has come to an end; we just havent realized it yet.Passwords are as old as civilization.
And for as long as theyve existed, people have been breaking them.In 413 BC, at the height of the Peloponnesian War, the Athenian general Demosthenes landed in Sicily with 5,000 soldiers to assist in the attack on Syracusae. Things were looking good for the Greeks. Syracusae, a key ally of Sparta, seemed sure to fall. But during a chaotic nighttime battle at Epipole, Demosthenes forces were scattered, and while attempting to regroup they began calling out their watchword, a prearranged term that would identify soldiers as friendly.
The Syracusans picked up on the code and passed it quietly through their ranks. At times when the Greeks looked t
